SHORTLY ABOUT NGO:

"Jaunatnes Čemodāns" (‘’Youth Case’’) is a non-governmental organization in Rezekne, which was founded on 27th of September 2013. It is a youth organization - youth platform. The idea of NGO is creating opportunities for youth who want to be active, to learn something new, gain experience and knowledge to their personal and professional development. It is situated in the Orthodox cultural and educational centre in Rezekne.

POSSIBLE TASKS OF THE VOLUNTEER:

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in the target group of the NGO "Jaunatnes Čemodāns" (youth), in the development of different kind of activities in education, culture, art, sport activities, media, leisure time activities, summer camps, educational trips, popularizing EVS and Erasmus+ among youth, Sunday’s Orthodox school, cooking workshops, international evenings, youth projects. All ideas are welcome!

Some examples of possible activities for EVS volunteers:

EVENTS & WORKSHOPS. Organize workshops (together with our local volunteers or individually). For example, educational games, movie nights, educational excursions, teaching languages, photo-orientation in the city or in the nature. Any possible workshops.

PROJECTS & ACTIVITIES. Support NGO’s projects and activities. The role will be given to a volunteer depending on the skills, interests and experience.

INFORMATIONAL CAMPAIGNS. Educate and inform people about EVS within Erasmus+ at schools, youth centers, other NGOs. Support Latvian EVS volunteers going abroad.

WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA. Write a project blog (in English). Post updates on social network (Facebook).

PHOTO & VIDEO. Document our events/activities and make promotional material.

GRAPHIC DESIGN. Create materials (posters, flyers, stickers) to promote volunteers activities, events of NGO

HELP IN ORTHODOX CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTRE. (Sundays Orthodox children school – handicrafts, introducing your culture, Summer camps, )

GARDENING. The task of the volunteer would be taking care of the garden and developing it (for e.g. landscaping, eco-building or own ideas), organizing events and workshops there.

YOUR OWN INITIATIVES. Be creative! All ideas are welcome!

REZEKNES ORTHODOX CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL CENTRE (ROCEC)

Short description:

-         - 2 floors building, almost reconstructed

-       -   There are 500m2 green zone around suitable for outdoor activities

-        -  The library (13 000 books)

-         - Sport hall

-        -  Canteen

-        -  Kitchen

-         - Assembly hall

-        -  Conference hall („The Round Table Room”)

-         - sewing workshop room

-        -  Restoration and icon painting workshop room

-        -  Classrooms for activities (with computers, projector, printer, 3 pianos)

-         - Latvian language classroom

-        -  guest bedrooms

-         - NGO „Jaunatnes Čemodāns” (NGO „Youth Case”)

-         - The room of the Bishop of Daugavpils and Rezekne Alexander

Main activities:

- Children's Sunday school (classes, celebration of holidays, summer camps, bike trips, kayaking trips, pilgrimages, Christmas and spring ball, etc.);

- Sunday school for adults;

- Carrying out of educational seminars, lectures, concerts;

- Meetings with interesting people;

- Manufacture of candles for the church needs;

- beekeeping (apiculture)
